  1. To Beer or Not to Beer (April 26)
    Our 2019 cooking classes get hopping with To Beer or Not to Beer! We’re tapping the talents of Chef Kate Woehrle from The Settlers Inn to discover different techniques to incorporate beer into your favorite dishes. The class is at 7 p.m. and includes a four-course meal and a complimentary brew. ($59/person)

  2. There’s No One Butter Than You Mom (May 12)
    Mom, mimosas and mouthwatering treats! There’s no better way to celebrate Mother’s Day! Learn how to make inspired brunch favorites such as Bourbon Pecan Sticky Buns and individual quiche. Then relax with a mimosa and enjoy your handiwork, fresh from the oven. Executive Pastry Chef Julia Kent will lead the hands-on lesson, which includes a complimentary snack buffet.   3. Bienvenu a Paris (September 8)
    Bon appetit! Executive Pastry Chef Julia Kent will share her secrets for creating the craveable croissants offered daily at our Cocoon Coffee House and Bakery. Roll up your sleeves and learn, step-by-step, how to make plain and chocolate croissants. Step into the” Patissierie” at 2 p.m. and enjoy a complimentary signature cocktail while you discover the art of the croissant. ($49/person)
  4. Oh Deer, It’s That Time of Year! (October 18)
    We’re targeting the best ways to prepare venison. Chef Kate Woehrle has her sights set on hunting season as she entertains and educates on the art of cooking one of Northeast PA’s most popular game meats. During the class, Chef Kate will demonstrate five techniques for cooking venison. Participants will also enjoy a full meal and complimentary signature cocktail. Class begins at 7 p.m. ($79/person)
  5. Get in the Holiday Spirits (December 15)
    Mix it up at your next gathering with three unique holiday cocktails. Mixologist Doug Brigandi will share new techniques and recipes, plus fun ways to garnish cocktails that will wow your guests. Sample each of the featured cocktails then enjoy your favorite during a casual meet and greet after class. Mingle with other attendees, ask questions and enjoy snacks from Cocoon Coffee House and Bakery. Get in the holiday spirit beginning at 2 p.m. ($59/person).

More About Chef Julia Kent

Julia Kent is an extremely talented pastry chef who is responsible for all the tasty cakes and pastries at Cocoon Coffee House and Bakery! Her talents are so widely recognized that she was recently selected to create a Walking Dead cake for the actors and actresses of the series. In September 2017, she was also chosen to bake an extraordinary cake for actress Katrina Law from Arrow at the Heroes and Villains Fan Fest.
