4 Things to Expect at the Poconos Garlic Festival PA 2019

This August 31-September 1, the mountains of Northeastern Pennsylvania will celebrate the fall season with food, music, family-friendly activities, and more! Here are some visitor favorites from previous years that you’re sure to find at this year’s garlic festival.

  1. Specialty Food Vendors

The Poconos Garlic Festival features many of the best regional vendors who will serve up their most delicious garlic-inspired recipes and sophisticated foods. We hope you’ll arrive hungry because you won’t be able to resist the wide variety of scrumptious selections.

     2. Arts and Crafts

If you enjoy picking up a piece of finely crafted jewelry or pottery, you’ll find it all at the Poconos Garlic Festival. The event highlights an extensive collection of products from fine art to distinctive crafts, all with a garlic theme! It’s the perfect place to find unique gifts for your friends and family back home or souvenirs for yourself.

    3. Education Tent

Do you want to learn how to make mouthwatering garlic dishes? Veterans of the restaurant industry will be present to demonstrate how to prepare incredible meals! The education tent is also where you’ll find the Pocono Wildlife Rehabilitation Center showing off local wildlife in a one-of-a-kind educational experience.

    4. Garlic Eating Contest

If you believe nobody loves garlic more than you do, you’re invited to participate in the garlic eating contest! The event is held each day of the festival at 2 p.m. underneath the Main Tent. The first 10 entrants are guaranteed a spot, so be sure to get there early to sign up! The person to eat the most garlic within one minute will be invited to lead the Garlic Processional Parade as the King or Queen of the festival. Responsibilities include overseeing and ruling the Pocono Garlic Festival Kingdom! Just be sure not to share your garlic breath with your loyal subjects.

Prizes will also be awarded for runner-ups and other participants including complimentary ski passes to Shawnee Mountain Ski Area, festival T-shirts, and more.
