Hiking Trails

If you’d like to see our region’s beautiful fall scenery up close, embarking on a hike through the wilderness is ideal. You’ll find many incredible and challenging hiking trails, some of which can be found just minutes from Hawley, PA. The Shuman Point Hiking Trail is located on the northeastern corner of Lake Wallenpaupack and sends visitors on an unforgettable journey through dense forests alongside the water. If you’re interested in a longer trek, there are also several waterfall hikes scattered throughout the region that provide fantastic opportunities to take postcard-worthy photos.

Scenic Back Roads Tour

Fall Foliage Rides on the Stourbridge Line

The Stourbridge Line is a historic railway that offers tours throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania. Each autumn season, five fall-themed excursions are provided for visitors who want to experience the Poconos in the fall in a unique and exciting way. Train rides are usually about 1.5 hours long and explore over 25 miles of the most jaw-dropping areas in the region.

24th Annual Harvest Festival
Sundays August 28-October 2

The scenic grounds of Bethel Woods Center for the Arts fills with vendors of every kind. Browse an open-air market for a variety of items including craft and artisan goods, specialty food and a farmer’s market. Children’s activities tap into the seasonal theme and visitors can also indulge in an assortment of tasty foods.

12th Annual Harvest Festival
October 8
Pocono Environmental Education Center, Dingmans Ferry

Enjoy a commemoration of the season with a nod to nature. The day features animal presenters, arts and crafts, hand-on activities, conservation exhibits, live music, food and traditional activities. It’s the 10th consecutive year for this event at Pocono Environmental Education Center.

Harvest & Heritage Days
October 8-9

Country comes to town as hay bales, pumpkins and cornstalks decorate downtown Honesdale. Harvest and Heritage Days features live music, demonstrations, craft vendors, pumpkin painting, hayrides and more.

Hawley Harvest Hoedown
October 1-2

Our charming town of Hawley  celebrates the start of the autumn season with the Hawley Harvest Hoedown! This family-friendly festival features a plethora of fall activities including hot cider tastings, live entertainment, contests, demonstrations, and more. Carve pumpkins with the kids, enjoy horse-drawn carriage hayrides, or shop for unique items among the arts and crafts markets. Whatever you decide to do, you’ll be sure to make memories with your loved ones that you’ll always cherish. Be sure to stay for the festival finale, a fantastic bluegrass and folk concert at the Ritz Theatre.

Oktoberfest
October 1

Oktoberfest gives you the chance to indulge in traditional Oktoberfest fare. There will also be a biergarten and live music, at Vault 240 in Hawley. It will be a full afternoon of fall-themed fun that you won’t want to miss.
