The main goal for our repurposed silk factory is to have a center that celebrates the vibrancy of life in the Poconos Lake community. Full of history, natural beauty, and charm, we feel you have not truly experienced the Poconos until you have immersed in its true non-commercial culture. That’s why, when it comes to shopping in the Poconos, we invite you to steer away from the shopping mall and discover the many unique items you’ll find at the shops of Hawley Silk Mill.
Extraordinary Shopping in the Poconos
The Mill Market provides local foods and goods that are all sourced within a 200-mile radius of the region. Here you will find an in-house bakery, locally roasted coffee, fresh groceries, custom gift baskets, candies, and so much more. Don’t miss their free tastings every Saturday from noon until 2 p.m. It is also the location of Cocoon Catering Company pick-up through which you can bring featured dishes from The Settlers Inn straight to your own table. 6-packs of local Pennsylvania brewery beers can also be found here, so don’t miss out on some of the finest and freshest food in the Poconos.
Art on the Edge features items from many vendors including Oma’s Attic, Santiago Cigars, The Potting Shed, Van Gorder’s Furniture, and Woodloch Resort. It’s a great place to check out art, fashion, furniture, and other gifts, most of which were crafted locally.
Knitters unite! The Gentle Arts is stocked full of the finest and coziest yarns for your next scarf or sweater. You’ll find a wide array of fibers and quality brands including angora, cashmere, wool, alpaca, and more. For those interested in becoming a knitting enthusiast, The Gentle Arts also offers classes in needle felting and spinning.
The Looking Glass Art Gallery and Studio collects masterpieces from all over the world. Artwork from some of the world’s most talented artists are featured here from areas like New York, Philadelphia, France, Germany, Mexico, and even Hong Kong! It is sure to please anyone from the true enthusiast to someone who has never held a paintbrush in their lifetime. Avid art collectors will also find this jewel of a gallery intriguing.
Hawley Silk Mill is also the home to Shelter, an office for designer Ethel Schmitt where you can find unique home decor items for sale. If you’re interested in sprucing up your bedroom with new bedding, renovating your kitchen cabinets, adding a spectacular piece of furniture to your home, or just simply taking a look around, this is not a place you’ll want to skip.
